Did you miss out on our first FAFSA Night? We have another opportunity for you on Thursday, November 5th from 3:30-6pm in The Commons! The Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) representative will be available for FAFSA Support. Completion of the FAFSA is a state of Illinois graduation requirement.
Students and their families will be able to meet the Illinois graduation requirement in one of three ways:
1) Complete the FAFSA: The Free Application for Federal Student Aid or
2) The Alternative Application: A free Application for students with specific citizenship status or
3) A Non-Completion Waiver: A free form for students and parents that wish to Opt- out of completing a FAFSA application.
There is a FAFSA follow-up session at 6pm if you want to learn more about next steps following FAFSA submission.

We are partnering with the United Way of West Central Illinois to help stock local food pantries, and we need your help! Each week, students can bring a specific food item:
Week 1: Beans
Week 2: Pasta, Ramen & Rice
Week 3: Cereal
Week 4: Canned Fruits and Vegetables
We will be on fall break next week, so students can bring their pasta, ramen, and rice donations to school on Monday, October 19, when we return.

✅Families are responsible for selecting the pose to be included in the yearbook. If no pose is selected, the photographer's default photo will be used.
✅Pricing and ordering information are included on the proof page.
✅Pay by check: a perforated envelope is included at the bottom of the packet. Tear it off and return it with a check payable to Dickerson's Photography to the GJSHS front office.

Our 8th-grade students spent Friday exploring what their futures could look like at the Welcome to the Real World and Career Exploration experience at Carl Sandburg College.
Students had the opportunity to learn about a variety of career pathways, explore different opportunities, and begin thinking about the possibilities that await them beyond high school.

Congratulations to our Streaks golfers on some incredible accomplishments!
Ella Herchenroder took home 1st place at the Western Big 6 Girls Golf Tournament and was named Western Big 6 Player of the Year!
Aidan Nelson finished 2nd place at the Western Big 6 Boys Golf Tournament and earned First Team All-Conference honors for the third consecutive year!

During the workshop, students and parents/guardians will have the opportunity to create their FSA IDs, which are required to begin the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
🔑 Important: Both students and parents/guardians will need to create an FSA ID using their Social Security number.
The FAFSA opens October 1st, and we’ll also be hosting Senior Night (FAFSA Support) on October 7th to help families with the FAFSA process! 🎓
